- On February 1, 2005, Victor Mooney will retrace the Middle Passage by solo rowboat from Goree Island (Senegal) to NYC with a link between the vessel, educators, and students to promote the prevention of HIV/AIDS.
- National HIV Testing Day
- June 27 is National HIV Testing Day (NHTD). An effort of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to educate, motivate, and mobilise against HIV/AIDS.
